As we enter Pride month 2024, we’d like to honor, highlight, and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. San Francisco illuminates and celebrates its communities and is a beacon of love for the LGBTQIA+ culture. “Beacon of love” is the theme for the 54th Annual San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade and Celebration, chosen for the city’s undiminished spirit as a global leader in the fight for LGBTQIA+ liberation and fundamental human rights.
Many of our residents live at the front steps of where all the celebrations will take place, with the Pride Parade scheduled for June 30th at 10:30 a.m. along Market Street and culminating with a huge party at City Hall from 1 – 5 p.m.
LGBTQIA+ Pride holds a sacred place for Mosser and in the heart of our vibrant community and culture. Even though many of us will show up in full support to the parade, to San Franciscans, Pride is more than just an event or a month – it’s a feeling of belonging and equality. In a city known for its acceptance, Pride fosters a powerful sense of community, uniting individuals from all walks of life. We believe this is testament to our city’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live authentically and without prejudice—and it is one of the many reasons we are committed to this city and housing its diverse populations.
Throughout the city are planned celebrations and festivities, showcasing San Francisco’s artistic flair and progressive spirit. Let us all celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and listen for opportunity to be even better allies.
“As a proud member of San Francisco’s LGBTQ+ community, I’m honored to join my fellow colleagues on the Board of Supervisors to help kickoff and celebrate Pride Month in our vibrant city,” said District 6 Supervisor Matt Dorsey at the annual flag raising at City Hall. “San Francisco has always been a beacon of hope and a sanctuary for those seeking acceptance and equality. This month, we honor our history, celebrate our progress, and recommit to the ongoing fight for justice and inclusivity for all. Together, we embody the spirit of pride—resilient, diverse, and unapologetically authentic.”
