James Marcial moved into his Mosser apartment home in December 2020, during the height of the pandemic. While the newspapers reported an exodus from San Francisco during that time, many were lured by less expensive rents and the city’s culture, beauty and great spirit. Those who moved into our world-class city during the pandemic have been privileged to enjoy all the city has to offer and greater affordability to boot.
James looked at a variety of Mosser apartments with the help of his leasing agent, Ryan. He settled on a fully restored, renovated and spacious studio in the pet-friendly community of 1060 Bush Street in Lower Nob Hill.
James’ top priorities for an apartment were affordability and the proximity to public transportation. The neighborhood James selected is a walker’s paradise with a walking score of 99 and earned a perfect transit score of 100, noting its world class public transportation.
James fell in love with the classic San Francisco charm of his apartment but appreciated the modern updates to the kitchen and bathroom. He was also delighted by how much natural light came into his apartment through its oversized windows, the hardwood floors, and the other unique architectural details. He appreciated the building’s washers and dryers and the neighborhood’s proximity to grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance from his apartment.
The Morning Fix Café is just steps away from his building that is part of a great food scene with vegan, tapas, pizza, sushi, ramen, burgers, Thai and more nearby. He can meet friends at Zeki’s Bar or Ace’s cool corner dive bar, or squeeze in a quick workout at Live Fit Gym around the corner.
James also spends much of his time in the back area of his building. He refers to it as his “secret garden”. Whenever James feels the need to escape, he goes to sanctuary where he enjoys reading, admiring the plants or just enjoying the weather.
Since living in his building, he has also gotten to know his neighbors, who he describes as both quiet and respectful, and his property manager. “Christina does a good job informing the residents of what’s going on within the building,” he said. “She is always there to assist with any issues and provide residents with updates.”
James added, “It’s been easy to work with Mosser. I find it really smooth and efficient to use their online rent portal and they respond quickly to any work order requests, keeping the building in good, clean condition. It’s been a pleasure living there.”
