Inner Richmond
About Neighborhood
Inner Richmond is the ultimate Reuben of a neighborhood, in which the Presidio and Golden Gate Park comprise the top and bottom crusts and lively streets infuse the residential destination with layers of mouth-watering activity for a Michelin Star-worthy sandwich. Central San Francisco begins just east of the plate, while the tranquil remainder of the Richmond district lies to the west.
While Inner Richmond may be known as San Francisco’s second Chinatown, it offers one of the city’s most diverse dining scenes where Japanese, Burmese, Korean, Russian, and Irish eateries thrive alongside the plethora of dim sum spots. Some favorites include Good Luck Dim Sum, Wako, and Cinderella Bakery and Café. Shops and restaurants line Balboa and Clement Streets, and the iconic Geary Boulevard bisects the neighborhood.
To the north of Inner Richmond, the Presidio is flush with trails, views, and things to do. The de Young Museum, Academy of Sciences, and Conservatory of Flowers populate Golden Gate Park along the neighborhood’s southern border. Skirted by greenery and with currents of activity running along its streets, Inner Richmond is a residential expanse that promises entertainment and adventure just blocks away.
